The Battalion left Mudros on 19 January for Alexandria, in Egypt,

arriving there on the 21st, from where it moved inland to Abbassia.

On 25 January the 4RS elements left to reform their own Battalion.

With the 23 Officers and 440 Other Ranks recorded as reinforcements

over the period, 1/7RS’s casualties from departure from Larbert, exactly

eight months earlier, totalled 34 Officers and 1,110 ORs or 108% of the

entrained strength.
